Direct Support Professionals work with individuals with mental or developmental disabilities by supporting them in completing activities in life and/or behavior plans, teaching self-care skills, cooking meals and doing laundry. Additional duties may include:
o Supporting clients with daily personal tasks, including bathing and dressing o Completing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes and tidying o Encouraging client engagement in social networks and communities o Work in a team environment for the betterment of individuals lives o Monitor health and safety of clients and complete documentation The best measure of resident satisfaction is the relationship between the person we support and the direct care staff who work with them on a daily basis.
